5 Womb Care Techniques to Support Your Healing Journey

The journey through womb healing and reclamation can be a beautifully winding road. There are so many ways that we are often called to learn and grow. Upon discovering the intuitive wisdom and power of the womb, we often realize that after years or even decades of neglect, the womb may hold a plethora of stagnant energy, blockages, and even trauma from our past.

Our bodies hold a vast reservoir of impressions from our past experiences and the womb is an integral part of these somatic memories. Many traditional and ancient civilizations believe that the womb holds memories from far back into our historical ancestral lines. When we embark on the womb healing journey, we have the wonderful opportunity to clear and release old wounds, experiences, and trauma from our womb space in order to help restore it back to its natural vitality.

Here are five womb healing techniques to support you on the womb healing journey:

  1. Womb aware meditation

Meditation is a fantastic technique to evoke a sense of presence within the body and mind. Specifically focusing your conscious awareness on your womb and noticing what emotions and sensations come up is critical in building a trusting relationship with your womb. From there you can focus on gently softening and releasing that which no longer needs to be held within your womb.

Tip: Keep it simple. You can simply sit and/or lay down and focus your attention on your womb. She craves your attention and recognition. That alone is enough to start the unraveling!

2. Yoni Steaming

Yoni steaming is an ancient practice that dates back thousands of years. It is used to help cleanse the uterus and entire reproductive area. It is particularly useful to aid in the care of menstrual difficulties, after birth, and during and after menopause. Yoni steaming is a lovely self care practice to relax and soothe the vulva, vagina, and womb.

Tip: Yoni steaming at home is simple and easy. Get a large bowl or pot and fill it with boiling water. Wrap the outside of the container with at least two towels. You can squat over the bowl leaning your back on a couch or you can kneel over the bowl with your knees supported with blankets on either side of the bowl. Be careful not to touch the hot container. You can also add your favorite herbal blend or flower petals.

3. Womb Aware Visualizations

The power of visualizations has recently gained a lot of traction and for good reason. Our brain is very powerful in shaping what we focus on and thus what we put our effort towards. My personal favorite womb visualization is focusing on the element of water. Imagine the ocean or a pristine waterfall clearing out any unwanted debris from the womb.

Tip: Consciously relaxing the vagina and pelvic floor during your visualization is helpful to invite a sense of ease and release.

4. Yoni Egg Ritual

Yoni eggs come in a wide variety of healing crystal forms. It’s helpful to choose one that really resonates with where you are in your healing journey. Yoni eggs practices can be done externally or internally depending on your comfort level. Either way, attuning to the healing properties of the egg is an accessible way to begin utilizing them in your womb healing journey.

Tip: Focus on the energy of the egg clearing and rebalancing your womb space. Once your practice is finished, hold the egg under running water and imagine the water washing away old energy and returning it to the earth where it can be transmuted into a loving source.

5. Eating for Womb Health

The health of our womb is a direct reflection of the overall health and wellness of our bodies. Eating healthy whole foods is a must for proper womb health. Taking note of the body's changes in dietary requirements throughout each phase of the menstrual cycle is also important.

Tip: Ensure you consume balanced meals throughout the duration of your cycle, particularly before and during menstruation to support the body through its natural cleansing process.

Embarking on a womb healing journey is sacred work. Although it is a lifelong journey that requires consistent connection and care, it offers us an entirely different way of relating to ourselves and our environments. Supporting your womb long term has numerous benefits that include a more pleasant menstrual cycle, a deep connection to your intuitive center, and improved physical, emotional, and spiritual health.

With love,

Whitney
